–Phoenix

Developed as a residential community to serve as a national and international model, First Place–Phoenix offers supportive apartment housing for adults with autism and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities, as well as a residential transition program for adults with autism.

Many adults with autism and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD) face unique challenges with daily living. At First Place–Phoenix, residents live and thrive in a supportive environment that provides the comfort of home and a spirit of community. They benefit from the tools and resources to help them enjoy a fun, meaningful lifestyle.

Before anything else, we established First Place AZ: the nonprofit roots for First Place–Phoenix and First Place Global.

Mission

To serve as home for adults with autism and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities who live here, offer an enriching environment for the people who work and learn here, and give peace of mind to families and friends.

Inclusivity Diversity Equity Accessibility (IDEA)

First Place AZ is dedicated to fostering an inclusive community, growing a diverse and integrated workforce, and providing housing that is affordable, accessible and attainable. We seek to impact the greater community through conversations, actions and lived experiences. We lead authentically through daily practices focused on addressing roadblocks through dialog, modeling, data collection, innovation and public policy—and maximizing independence and quality of life for those we serve.
